Wee trip to Edinburgh

Last night was the Edinburgh Ceroc party at Marco’s.

I was lucky enough to be able to go though from Glasgow in the company of two lady dancer friends of mine.

Long Weekend in Perth and Glasgow…

I’ve just had a weekend of dancing in Perth at Lindsay’s “Dance Fever” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, finishing the weekend off with just a bit of dancing in Glasgow…

Had a really good time, though I’m still suffering today… Sore all over… Think I’ve come down with a cold though…

Quick visit to the GUU

Made a late visit to the GUU tonight…

I’d decided earlier today I was going to go fairly late on, but I feel asleep after eating my dinner and didn’t wake up ’til almost 9…

Random Red Squirrel

Been to RR’s (a.k.a. JJ’s) tonight…

I even made it to the start of the class. Wow, can’t remember the last time I did that… (Though the information is in here if anyone wants to find it…)

Really good night that just got better and better as the night went on. Shame I had to come home, but there were getting fewer and fewer people to dance with, and had to leave get a lift. (Thanks!) (Plus I don’t think I could have danced much longer… Getting old, knees failing me…)

Beach Ballroom weekend - Val & Dave

I’m rather ashamed that I have still yet to post the blog articles I wrote after my first visit to the Beach Ballroom last year.

For this visit, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen. (Update: I’ve made sure. ;) )

So, I was up in Aberdeen for 24 hours (more or less) Saturday into Sunday. Here’s what I did…

Take The Lead

On Friday I went to see “Take The Lead”, a movie featuring Antonio Banderas in the role of a ballroom dance teacher who decides that teaching school kids to dance would be good for them. This tale is based on a true story, though clearly fictionalised, about Pierre Dulane. His dance program for school kids now covers New York, and is spreading out across America. It was also recently the subject of the film documentary “Mad Hot Ballroom” (I think they got the better title.)

Jumping at the GUU

The GUU tonight was jumping. Why can’t it be this crowded every week?

I had a brilliant night, though probably still didn’t get as many really good dances as on a typical Tuesday at RR’s (previously known as JJ’s.)

Random Redhead’s

I was at JJ’s tonight… Which I am now going to rename as “Random Redhead’s” – RR’s.

So, a good night a Random’s, made all the better by a visitor from France…

Red Hot and Blue

Hey, I finally made it! I went to Red Hot and Blue tonight. It was a good night, and I’m very glad I went.

This though, is likely to have been the last night at its present venue and time. That, however, may not be a bad thing…

Hands-on at the GUU

GUU tonight… A bit of a mixed night. I’m beginning to go off Wednesday nights, thought this wasn’t my worse night of dancing by any stretch of the imagination.

Wednesday at the GUU

Oops, didn’t manage to get round to posting anything on Wednesday night, and it’s been a busy week since then…

The main aspect of Wednesday night at the GUU was the tribute to Jim, who died there last Saturday.
