Popped in to the GUU for the freestyle tonight.

And got a bit of a surprise…

It was much busier than normal… And I wasn’t our regular teacher and DJ team. I don’t think it was related (yesterday JJ’s was also much busier than of late) but it’s spooky that this has happened a few times…

So with a bigger crowd there was a much better vibe going on… The music was good – mostly up-beat, with a latin twist.

The only thing that was missing was all the excellent dancers who go on a Tuesday. Sure, there are some great dancers at the GUU quite often, but again, I can count the number of partners whom I had one of those magic dances with on the fingers of one hand.

Tonight I danced with experienced dancers one of whom bounced her hands out of our hand-hold an alarming number of times; another whose step-back isn’t complete until our arms are at maximum stretch; and one who tried to break my fingers every time I threatened to let go of her.

Unfortunately these folks were not atypical.

Ho-hum…

Anyway, I did manage to get some good dances, I really enjoyed the music and it was good to chat with folks…

Looking forward to the weekend… Going to Dundee!
