One notch above

Tuesday night was JJ’s. Another fab night of dancing. :)

Our London visitors were in town again to live the unique JJ’s experience. Oh, and Tessa had to do a dare involving lots of kissing of various body parts (nothing rude!) Good to see her and her mum again before they were back to London. They’re both such fun dancers. And such lovely folks too.

When I wasn’t involving myself with them, the dare, etc., I was either practicing with my partner or just dancing.

Things are going well for us. Besides practicing and having worked out a few cool tricky moves, just dancing with each other lots has made our dancing together much better. I don’t know how it looks, but I can feel a difference – in both of us. But not only that – I think we both feel that it has improved our dancing with other people too, and so that makes me think that even without the competition as motivation, this has been valuable for us both. (Can I say “both” a few more times?! Both, both, both!)

Of course, there’s things to work on – e.g. I’m still occasionally confusing my partner in my lead to a few similar moves (or she’s occasionally misreading my lead – neither of us are perfect.) But we’ve still got plenty of time, and we’re still having fun! :)

But I wasn’t there just to practice and dance with my partner – not when there were so many other lovely dancers to dance with!

Except for maybe a couple of poor ones (which you’ll get no matter where you go), I had so many great dances with lots of my favourites, and a few people I hadn’t danced with in a while who surprised me. I had a really great time.

The music was also excellent. There was probably one or two tracks I didn’t like, but they must have been blocked from my memory by all the good stuff!

Afterwards a bunch of us went downstairs for a quick drink and a bit of a chat. Also lots of good-byes to our visitors. Then home just after midnight-ish… (Thanks for the lift!)

Almost every night at JJ’s I have are excellent, but this was one notch above. Thanks to those that made it so. (F)

I love dancing. :)

Hope you all feel the same… ;)
