Hi folks,

JJ’s tonight – abbreviated again, but not as bad this week – we got to dance until 10pm, then went down to Yates’ downstairs again for some more dancing, so over-all a good night of dancing.

Also had a good day of dancing. Had a further few hours of practice with my partner during the day, plus during the class time at JJ’s tonight.

I think we’re pretty much done with our practicing. We’ve decided to follow the good advice given as a comment to my post last week and not do any official practice next week in the run-up to the competition. So the time we have scheduled for later this week will be it.

We have a couple of things to sort out (from more feedback we got tonight.)

1. We need to work on the exits to poses and the like to make then smoother.
2. We need to look at the issue of costumes.

While there are going to be loads of other things we could work on, I think we’re about as good as we’re going to get without major effort. While I don’t think we have a chance of placing, it’s possible we might get through to the second round. I think that would be achievement enough for us.

Besides all that I had a great night of dancing. Had some great dances with a few of my favourites, including a visitor from Aberdeen, and a girl who we don’t see often enough, and apparently won’t be able to do JJ’s for a while after this week. Also had a very good dance with a lady I don’t dance with often enough. Until today I didn’t feel I could cope with her high standard of dancing, but things seemed to work a lot better between us tonight, so I must make sure to get more dances with her in future.
