Stirling Tea Dance
So I made it to the Tea Dance yesterday up in Stirling too.
I was feeling tired and a bit run-down, but again the prospect of a lift to Stirling swayed me into going – if I got tired I didn’t need to dance.
Glad I did go. The whole thing energised me and I came back feeling much more alive and awake than when I went.
We expected to arrive late for the 5.30pm start, but when we arrived we found we were early for the 6.30 start. Conflicting information on the web site led to this confusion… In the end, as there were already a bunch of folks there downstairs (trying and failing to get some food apparently) the start was changed to 6pm, so we got an extra half hour of dancing.
As ever it was fantastic. Early on it looked like there would be a lack of women, but that soon sorted itself and I think there was a fairly even balance. Someone asked me how many folks I thought were there, and I guessed around 40 folks in total. Not many you may think, but it’s a small venue and it’s the quality, not the quantity that counts here.
So many fab dancers. So much fab music. You could enjoy the time dancing, listening, watching or chatting. It was all good.
Our celeb teacher who was taking the workshops during the day was there. Good to get a chance to chat with him for a bit.
Had fun on most of my dances. Felt I let down one or two of the better dancers. When I’m dancing to one part of a song, and she’s dancing to another, it can make for a difficult dance.
Oh, and the cake was really great, as ever!
Not much else to say. If I haven’t said it before, or in case it’s not obvious, these tea dances are my favourite regular event.
Great to see everyone there. See you next month, if not before!
