Final Battle at JJ’s
That’s be the final battle at JJ’s for a while I hope…
Yeah, tonight was the final of the battle of the bands, which means we’ll be back to regular hours from next week – though as JJ’s will be open to regular punters after we’re done, I guess there will be the regular JJ’s DJ on from 10.30-ish. I really liked the 11 o’clock ending we had over the summer – think all venues should go on till then.
Anyway, as before we finished at 10pm, and as I didn’t get there until about quarter past 9, I didn’t get much dancing. I made up for it a bit afterwards downstairs in Yates’s, but it’s not the same…
I arrived late not to help develop my hot-shot image (though it’s all good
), but because I’ve got a touch of the cold, and I wasn’t sure I would make it through the class and freestyle. Just doing the freestyle I could pace myself and if I didn’t feel up to dancing, I could sit out. In the end, I felt good enough to dance just as much as I would regularly.
It was surprisingly busy considering there was football on tonight, and the floor was quite crowded. I noticed a lot of the beginners stay up on the side where their taxi class is to practice their dancing. Maybe this space needs exploited some more…
Anyway, I enjoyed myself, had a whole bunch of good dances, and went home happy. What more could a guy ask for?
Oh, I just remember another cool thing… Managed to land a Random individual on the floor while vividly demonstrating why I don’t like doing back-handers. Fun!
Cheers everybody!
